USAF Band: Air Force Strings
The Air Force Strings, one of six ensembles in the U.S. Air Force Band, presents a program of chamber music at the Kennedy Center’s REACH as part of the Millennium Stage series. The 17-member ensemble consists of active-duty musicians stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and performs across a wide range of styles, including classical, Broadway, rock, bluegrass, and patriotic music.
This performance pairs Kian Ravaei’s 2023 work *The Little Things* for string quartet with Johannes Brahms’s *String Sextet No. 2 in G major, Op. 36*. The ensemble’s broader mission is to honor those who have served, inspire patriotism and service, and connect with communities on behalf of the U.S. Air Force and the United States.
