Frida...A Self Portrait
Frida…A Self Portrait is a solo theatrical portrait of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, set on the eve of her death. Brazilian writer and performer Vanessa Severo explores Kahlo’s extraordinary life through physical storytelling, emotional directness, and a vivid theatrical style that examines her pain, passion, and experience of solitude.
Severo performs Kahlo in a production directed by Joanie Schultz. The creative team includes scenic designer Jacqueline Penrod, costume designer Katherine Davis, lighting designer Rachael Cady, sound designer and composer Thomas Dixon, and stage manager Janine Vanderhoff.
