Join us for a one-night-only concert by composer, rock musician, and playwright Stew Stewart (known mononymously as Stew), as Spooky Action Theater transforms into an intimate underground cabaret. Stew will perform an hour-long set spanning his career — from his early work with Stew & The Negro Problem, through his 2008 Tony Award‑winning Broadway show *Passing Strange*, to special selections from other albums and shows he has written and performed over the last fifteen years. The evening also includes a cocktail party at 8 PM, raising a glass to a year of groundbreaking theater, with all proceeds supporting Spooky Action’s next year of daring productions, educational opportunities, and new works.
When: Wednesday, December 10. Two performances are offered: 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
Showtimes: 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. A cocktail party takes place at 8:00 PM.
Tickets: Both showtimes are sold out. Two ticket types were available: General Admission ($75.00) – a riser seat; and Table Seat ($100.00 per seat) – a seat at one of the cabaret tables close to the stage (each table seats four), which includes a free drink voucher.
Lineup: Stew Stewart (vocals, guitar, and more) performing solo or with accompaniment as part of the concert. No other performers are named in the listing.

Note: The event is sold out. Stew is a Tony Award‑ and two‑time Obie Award‑winning playwright/performer, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter, and veteran of dive‑bar stages. He currently teaches musical theater writing at Harvard. Recent highlights include scoring the New Yorker short documentary *Criminal* (directed by Rob Imbriano) with collaborator Heidi Rodewald, the live shows and album *Notes from a Native Song* inspired by James Baldwin, and songs for film and television, including composing “Gary Come Home” for *SpongeBob SquarePants* and multiple collaborations with director Spike Lee.
