Brian Urra - Chillean Jazz Series
Brian Urra, an award-winning Chilean violinist, composer, arranger, and educator, presents an intimate evening of original music drawn from his upcoming debut album *Blanca*. Inspired by family memories, love, and the passage of time, the performance blends Chilean folk elements with jazz improvisation and contemporary textures, weaving a narrative that traces his grandmother’s life through compositions filled with nostalgia, emotion, and celebration. Urra’s extensive background includes performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Newport Folk Festival, as well as studies with acclaimed musicians such as Billy Childs, Kris Davis, and Danilo Perez. This event is co-presented with the Embassy of Chile.
