The Washington Ukrainian Festival is a three-day celebration of Ukrainian culture at the grounds of St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Silver Spring. The festival features live music, Ukrainian folk dancing, authentic food, cultural exhibits, family activities, a historic rushnyky collection, and Kozak Barbecue. Proceeds partially support humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine.

The 2026 program includes a display of 50 Ukrainian rushnyky, or traditional embroidered runners, dating from the mid-19th century through the present. Visitors can also enjoy a free Kids Zone, free face painting, and activities for all ages. Bounce attractions are available for an additional charge. Live concert performers for Saturday and Sunday will be announced later.

Showtimes: Friday, September 18, from 5:00–8:00 PM, with food sales only; Saturday, September 19, from 11:00 AM–9:00 PM; and Sunday, September 20, from 11:00 AM until dusk.

Tickets: Tickets are sold at the door. Saturday admission is $20 and includes admission on Sunday. Sunday admission is $15. Admission is free for visitors under 21.

Activities: Free Kids Zone and free face painting from 3:00–5:00 PM. Bounce attractions cost extra and are not included with the free children’s activities.

Food and Drink: Authentic Ukrainian food and Kozak Barbecue are available. Outside food and alcohol are not permitted.

Lineup: Live concerts and Ukrainian folk dance performances are planned for Saturday and Sunday. The performer lineup is forthcoming.
