Prism Piano Trio makes its Phillips Music debut in a Sunday Concert inspired by the exhibition *Avery, Gottlieb & Rothko: By the Sea*. The Washington, DC-based ensemble presents a varied program that pairs celebrated works by Debussy and Britten with music by Mel Bonis, Frank Bridge, Jennifer Higdon, Oliver Caplan, and Arvo Pärt. The concert highlights the trio’s interest in both familiar masterpieces and lesser-known repertoire, offering fresh perspectives across different musical periods and styles.

The ensemble consists of longtime collaborators Jane Bowyer Stewart on violin, Kerry Van Laanen on cello, and Kathryn Brake on piano. Together, they have performed throughout the United States and Europe, including at the Kennedy Center, the National Gallery of Art, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, and the Phillips Collection. Their work focuses on bringing overlooked piano-trio compositions to audiences through detailed, thoughtful interpretations.
