Bell & Clem
Paul Bell and Michael Clem bring together rock and folk in an intimate duo performance shaped by their long musical friendship. The set combines Michael Clem’s offbeat original songs with Paul Bell’s Telecaster-led guitar work and celebrates the joyful chemistry that developed when the two Wammie-winning musicians began playing together around Central Virginia and the Washington metropolitan area.
Bell is a longtime Washington-area guitar fixture and former member of the Nighthawks, while Clem has spent 31 years with the Northern Virginia folk group Eddie from Ohio. Though Bell & Clem is not a full-time act, the duo offers a distinctive meeting of Clem’s folk-oriented songwriting and Bell’s inventive musicianship. This is their first performance at Hank Dietle’s Tavern.
