Classical saxophonist Anders Lundegård and pianist Monika Mockovčáková present an evening of works by Mendelssohn and McKay, featuring the world premiere of Lundegård’s *Midsommarkrans*. The program is followed by a reception with the artists, hors d’oeuvres, and an open bar. The event is open to the public.

Lundegård, a Swedish-born saxophonist, made his debut as a soloist and broadcaster at age 17 and later studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and Northwestern University, where he earned master’s, performance, and doctoral degrees under Frederick Hemke. His career has included performances and teaching in Scandinavia and the United States, work with the Swedish chamber orchestra Musica Vitæ, contemporary chamber music, Baroque transcriptions, classical concerti, Bach’s Cello Suites on saxophone, and his own compositions.

Mockovčáková began piano at age six and won a national music competition in the former Czechoslovakia at 13. She earned music degrees from the University of Musical Arts of Bratislava, including a doctorate, and has pursued further study with prominent international teachers. Her concert work includes solo recitals, lieder accompaniment, chamber music, and piano four-hands performances. She has toured throughout Europe and the United States, won multiple awards at the 2007 Washington International Piano Artists Competition, taught in Switzerland, France, and Slovakia, and recorded for Slovak, Czech, and Swiss radio and television.
