Featuring: Angelo De Augustine

Angelo De Augustine returns with *Angel in Plainclothes*, his fifth album and a deeply personal account of healing, renewal, and learning how to live after illness. The music moves through fragility, second chances, and recovery, pairing De Augustine’s distinctive melodies and introspective songwriting with songs ranging from the haunting “Empty Shell” to the hopeful “Spirit of the Unknown” and the psychedelic-country track “Mirror Mirror.”

After an undiagnosed illness forced him to relearn basic abilities, De Augustine began reconsidering his identity and the possibility of a second chance at life. He wrote, recorded, arranged, produced, and mixed the album at his Southern California studio, A Secret Place. The record also marks his first collaborations in several years, bringing together string arranger Oliver Hill, harpist Leng Bian, background vocalist and percussionist Wendy Fraser, producer Thomas Bartlett, and Jonathan Wilson, who played drums on and co-produced “The Cure.” *Angel in Plainclothes* is presented as a hopeful work about the people and experiences that make recovery possible.
