School of Rock Showcase • Performance Program
School of Rock Rockville’s student Performance Program presents its first-ever showcase at Hank Dietle’s Tavern. The young musicians began rehearsing together in May and will perform a 1990s rock program spanning hard rock, singer-songwriter, alternative, indie, and grunge, offering a nostalgic set for listeners who grew up with the decade’s music.
The program draws on the Seattle grunge tradition associated with Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam while also featuring music connected to Weezer, Counting Crows, The Cranberries, Green Day, and other artists. The performers are students who have prepared the show in a short period despite summer scheduling challenges.
