Visionary Evenings brings acclaimed dancer and choreographer Laura Halzack to the Arts Club of Washington for an evening of contemporary dance and conversation. Halzack will discuss her distinguished career in an interview with choreographer and Arts Club member Dana Tai Soon Burgess, followed by performances of new work by her New York City-based company, LaHa Dance Group.

Recognized as one of legendary choreographer Paul Taylor’s final muses, Halzack joined the Paul Taylor Dance Company in 2006 and spent 13 years with the company. Taylor created 16 works for her, including the principal female role in his final masterpiece, *Beloved Renegade*. She performed in 67 of his works and portrayed more than 80 roles. Halzack has also worked with other leading contemporary choreographers and companies and has been featured by *Dance Magazine* in its “On the Rise” and “Behind the Curtain” series, as well as on its February 2018 cover.

Halzack founded LaHa Dance Group in 2022 and serves as its artistic director and choreographer. Her choreography has appeared at venues and festivals including the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage and the Asbury Park Dance Festival, with commissions from Alma College, The George Washington University, and Towson University.
