Victorian Lyric Opera Company presents "Haddon Hall"

Victorian Lyric Opera Company presents a semi-staged concert production of Arthur Sullivan’s rarely performed comic opera *Haddon Hall*. Set amid the political upheaval of 1660 Derbyshire, the production imagines the opera unfolding as a rehearsal inside the historic Haddon Hall estate. Romance, history, intrigue, and shifting social and political loyalties converge around Dorothy Vernon, who risks everything for love while navigating expectations and the theatrical performance of power. Sullivan’s spirited, charming score gives the production an entertaining yet timely perspective on the idea that politics has always been a kind of theater.

Showtimes: Friday, September 4, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, September 5, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, September 6, at 2 p.m.

Run time: Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, including the scheduled performance end times of 10:30 p.m. for the evening shows and 4:30 p.m. for the Sunday matinee.

Tickets: $30; $28 for seniors age 65 and older; and $26 for students. A $0.50 processing fee is added to each ticket. Season-subscription and group pricing are available through the box office.
