The Creation of an Eighteenth-Century Comic Opera
The Creation of an Eighteenth-Century Comic Opera presents a new critical edition of Domenico Cimarosa’s comic opera *La ballerina amante*, originally composed in 1782. The edition was published by Edizioni ETS of Rome in 2025 as part of the collected national editions of Cimarosa’s works. The program combines an introduction to the edition with discussion and a performance excerpt or presentation of the opera.
The performance features Modern Musick and the Georgetown University Chamber Singers, conducted by Frederick Binkholder.
