Cinema Art Bethesda: How to Divorce During the War
Cinema Art Bethesda presents Andrius Blaževičius’s award-winning Lithuanian film *How to Divorce During the War* (*Skyrybos karo metu*), an official selection of the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. Set in Vilnius in 2022, the family drama follows Marija, a high-powered executive who asks her husband Vytas for a divorce just one day before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. As they navigate separation alongside a refugee crisis and their own mid-life struggles, the collapsing marriage affects their work, home life, and young daughter, Dovile. The film combines humor and compassion with the fallout of a family crisis set against extraordinary historical events.
