Peter Bergen — All the Presidents' Wars: Twenty-Five Years of America's War on Terror - with Joby Warrick

Peter Bergen presents *All the Presidents’ Wars: Twenty-Five Years of America’s War on Terror*, a history of the United States’ post-9/11 war on terror across the presidencies of George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden. Drawing on hundreds of interviews and his experience reporting from inside the U.S. intelligence community, Bergen examines the campaign’s costs, successes, failures, and long-term consequences.

The discussion will address the rise of ISIS, al-Qaeda and its affiliated terrorist attacks, al-Qaeda in Iraq and the Iraqi civil war, the Taliban’s resurgence in Afghanistan, and the conflicts that shaped Trump’s approach to Iran. Bergen will discuss the book with Joby Warrick, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and national security correspondent for *The Washington Post*.

Peter Bergen: Bergen is a journalist, documentary producer, professor, and author of seven books, including the *New York Times* bestseller *Manhunt*. He has interviewed Osama bin Laden and has extensive access to the U.S. intelligence community. He lives in Washington, DC.

Joby Warrick: Warrick is a bestselling author, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, and national security correspondent at *The Washington Post*, where he has worked for nearly three decades. His reporting has covered Middle Eastern conflicts, terrorism, nuclear proliferation, and climate change. He wrote *Black Flags: The Rise of ISIS*, which won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for nonfiction, along with two other narrative nonfiction books. He lives in the Virginia suburbs of Washington.
