Basia Bulat
Basia Bulat is a Juno-nominated Canadian singer-songwriter recognized for her electrifying voice and expressive performances on autoharp and charango. Her music has earned a Polaris Music Prize short-listing, orchestral adaptations, and invitations to major tributes honoring Leonard Cohen and The Band.
Born in Toronto, Bulat grew up around her mother’s piano students and was influenced by Sam Cooke and Stax recordings. Since releasing her debut in 2007, she has performed with Arcade Fire, The National, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Daniel Lanois, St. Vincent, Sufjan Stevens, Destroyer, and Andrew Bird. Her 2016 album *Good Advice* was produced by Jim James of My Morning Jacket.
