Meanderings

Meanderings is a solo exhibition by Eleanor Kotlarik Wang, curated by Adah Rose Bitterbaum. The work takes vintage lace objects gifted to Wang as its point of departure, drawing on the floral, seed, and nature-based motifs developed by artisan lacemakers. Her lyrical abstract paintings begin with wandering painterly lines that weave, intersect, and build across the canvas, evoking landscapes, untamed gardens, and winding trails. Other works reinterpret the graceful forms of completed lace through unexpectedly vivid colors. The exhibition honors both the craft of lacemaking and the largely unrecognized women whose patience and skill produced these intricate objects.
