Lightwire Theater: The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare: The Next Gen

Lightwire Theater’s *The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare: The Next Gen* revisits Aesop’s familiar race and imagines what happens a decade later. Tortoise and Hare now have children of their own, Tortoise Jr. and Lil’ Hare, who face a new kind of competition while navigating modern distractions such as smartphones and video games. Their journey explores lost connections to real-life experiences and leads them into unexpected territory.

The production combines electroluminescent wire puppetry with storytelling and music ranging from classical pieces to pop. Lightwire Theater, a finalist on *America’s Got Talent* and a recipient of a Jim Henson Foundation Grant, creates glowing characters and striking visual sequences that unfold in darkness.
