Mario Wellmann Trio - Chilean Jazz Series

The Mario Wellmann Trio brings the Chilean Jazz Series to Blues Alley with an evening of original music from Wellmann's debut album *Ecos del Sur*, recorded just weeks prior in New York City with Grammy-winning engineer Joseph Branciforte. Supported by Chile's Fondo de la Música, the program blends contemporary jazz with Chilean and Latin American rhythmic and melodic traditions, performed by an all-star trio. This date is part of the broader Chilean Jazz Week programming, co-presented with the Embassy of Chile, offering an intimate first public hearing of the album.

Showtimes: One performance at 7:00 PM.

Tickets: $30 per person plus $7 in fees. Seating is first come at the door. The ticket is a final sale with no refunds and is not transferable.

Prices: In addition to the ticket price, there is a $15 food and beverage minimum per person, not included in the ticket cost.

Venue: Blues Alley, located at 1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20007. Doors open at 6:00 PM for this Monday–Saturday show (6:00 PM for the 7:00 PM performance; on Sundays doors open at 4:30 PM for early shows and 7:15 PM for late shows).

Lineup: Mario Wellmann (guitar, composition) leading a trio. Wellmann is a Chilean jazz guitarist and composer based in New York City and Austin, a PhD Fellow in Music at Columbia University, and a graduate of the University of North Texas. His sideman work appears on four acclaimed albums, and his playing has been featured in national and international press.
