Perfect Liars Club

Tue, Dec 8, 2026at 7:30 PM
1140 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC
Price not available

Perfect Liars Club is an interactive storytelling and comedy show built around deception, deduction, and audience participation. Four storytellers take the stage with wildly entertaining accounts; three stories are true, while one is entirely fabricated. After the stories, the audience interrogates the performers, searches for inconsistencies, votes for the suspected liar, and then hears the surprising truth.

Launched in Washington, DC, in 2013 by Layla McCay and Roz Campion, the show grew from a sold-out debut into a long-running monthly event and has also appeared at the Capital Fringe Festival. The Washington production is now run by Pierce McManus and Cara Foran.

When: Tuesday, December 8, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.

Venue: DC Improv, 1140 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20036

Tickets: $17.50 for general admission or $24 for reserved seating. Prices include service charges.

Lineup: Four storytellers; specific performers are to be announced.

Format: Four stories are presented, with three true accounts and one lie. The audience listens, laughs, cross-examines the storytellers, votes on the suspected liar, and takes part in the final reveal.

Background: Perfect Liars Club began when British creators Layla McCay and Roz Campion combined their interest in Washington’s independent spoken-word scene with the classic game of spotting the liar. The show debuted to a sold-out audience in May 2013 and has continued to attract audiences, including sold-out Capital Fringe Festival runs in 2014 and 2016.

Note: The event is designed as a witty, participatory night of storytelling and audience sleuthing, with bragging rights for those who correctly identify the liar.
