Perfect Liars Club

Perfect Liars Club is an interactive storytelling and deduction show in which four performers each present an entertaining, hard-to-believe story. Three stories are true, while one is entirely fictional. After the stories, the audience questions the storytellers, searches for inconsistencies and clues, and votes on who they believe is lying before the truth is revealed.

The show has been entertaining and outsmarting Washington audiences since 2013. It was created by Layla McCay and Roz Campion, two British transplants who combined their interest in Washington’s spoken-word scene with the classic game of spotting the liar. The Washington production is now run by Pierce McManus and Cara Foran. Audience members may leave with bragging rights, although the show’s atmosphere also includes plenty of laughter and beer.

Tickets: $17.50 general admission or $24 reserved seating; prices include service charges.

Lineup: Four storytellers; the individual performers are to be announced.

Format: Three true stories and one lie, followed by audience interrogation, discussion of the clues, voting, and the final reveal.
