Rhizome X People's Music Supply Collaboration Number 6
Rhizome DC and People's Music Supply present the sixth installment of their collaborative series, an evening of improvisational interplay that bridges the experimental music scenes of Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. The concert features three distinct performances: a group led by saxophonist Brian Settles, whose expressive and exploratory work spans jazz, experimental music, and contemporary creative practice; a solo set by Dan Blacksberg, a leading voice in klezmer trombone who merges tradition with innovation; and an ad-hoc trio of Simone Baron (accordion), Keith Butler Jr. (percussion), and Samantha Xiao Cody (violin), coming together to uncover the nuanced edges of cultural meaning. The evening follows an afternoon workshop led by Dan Blacksberg (held as a separate event).
