Matheus Fonseca - "OAS Night at Blues Alley"
Matheus Fonseca brings his genre-blending Brazilian music to Blues Alley for an OAS Night performance. The Rio de Janeiro–born composer combines bossa nova, bolero, reggae, jazz, and other global influences, drawing on experiences from different countries and a multicultural, open-minded approach to exploring new sounds.
The performance will feature music from Fonseca’s experimental body of work, including his latest album, *Latitude Zero (Vol. 1)*. Recorded in Quito, Ecuador, the album combines Brazilian rhythms with a sophisticated and exploratory sound. Fonseca won the Luiz Melodia Award for Afro-Brazilian Music in 2023 for “A Raiz” and placed second at the Brazilian National Song Festival in 2024 with “Rua A (Siricutico).”
