The Light We Carry

The Light We Carry, a portrait series by visiting resident artist Alexis Janay, celebrates individuals who shine authentically through vibrant color, layered patterns, and textured surfaces. This exhibition marks the culmination of Janay’s one-year artist residency at Montpelier Arts Center, a juried competition that allows selected artists to join the resident community and showcase their work. The resulting one-of-a-kind pieces reflect a year of dedicated creation and personal expression.

When: Saturday, June 27, 2026 through Sunday, August 2, 2026. The gallery is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Showtimes: The exhibition is viewable during regular open hours, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, on every day of its run.

Opening Reception: Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, offering a chance to meet the artist and explore the work.

Admission: Free. No ticket purchase required.

Ages: All ages are welcome.

Note: This exhibition is the concluding show of Alexis Janay’s one-year visiting residency at Montpelier Arts Center. The residency is awarded by juried competition, and the artist has been creating original pieces throughout the year specifically for this exhibition.
