An Evening with NRBQ & The Whole Wheat Horns brings the legendary American rock band to the Birchmere for a single night. NRBQ—short for New Rhythm and Blues Quartet—has been celebrated for over five decades as a national treasure, blending rock, blues, pop, and humor into a singular, joyous sound. The band has earned a devoted following that includes icons like Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Costello, and SpongeBob SquarePants, and their songs have been covered by Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos, and Yo La Tengo. For this performance, they are joined by their horn section, The Whole Wheat Horns, adding extra brass and energy.
