The Tear Garden (The Legendary Pink Dots & cEvin Key)

The Tear Garden brings together cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy and Edward Ka-Spel of the Legendary Pink Dots in a collaboration that began in 1986. Their partnership started when Key asked Ka-Spel to write lyrics for “Center Bullet,” a song originally intended for a cassette release. After recording a new version of the song in under an hour, they began creating additional material, establishing The Tear Garden as an ongoing project.

The project’s first album, *Tired Eyes Slowly Burning*, followed in 1987. Over time, the lineup expanded to include Skinny Puppy member Dwayne Goettel and the full Legendary Pink Dots lineup. Decades later, The Tear Garden continues with its album *Astral Elevator*, bringing together Skinny Puppy’s dense electronic sound and the Legendary Pink Dots’ surreal, psychedelic musical approach.
