Trio Zimbalist

Trio Zimbalist presents an intimate piano-trio program centered on music of strong emotional and psychological depth. The program brings together Ravel, Smetana, and Schumann, tracing themes that include romantic love, mental illness, and loss through three contrasting masterpieces.

The ensemble features violinist Josef Spacek, cellist Timotheos Gavriilidis-Petrin, and pianist George Xiaoyuan Fu, all distinguished alumni of the Curtis Institute of Music. Since its 2021 debut in Athens, Trio Zimbalist has gained international recognition for energetic, highly expressive performances and has appeared at major venues and festivals in Europe and North America. The group takes its name from violinist and Curtis figure Efrem Zimbalist, honoring his legacy of artistic excellence.
