About the artist: Token grew up north of Boston and started making music in a rapid-fire style reminiscent of early Eminem. He broke through in 2015 with “No Sucka MC’s” and expanded his audience with a performance on Sway Calloway’s Sway in the Morning SiriusXM show, which XXL called one of the year’s best freestyles. He released the mixtape Eraser Shavings in 2016, followed by Between Somewhere in 2018, which generated over 100 million streams and included tracks such as “YouTube Rapper” featuring Tech N9ne, “Household Name,” and “Flamingo.” His 2022 album Pink Is Better, released on his own Never Too Different label with Atlantic Records, featured appearances from JID, Rico Nasty, Benny the Butcher, and Lil Skies. His album I’m Not Supposed To Be Here won Album of the Year at the Boston Music Awards, and his latest album, I’m Leaving Soon, was released on July 24.
