Chinese Football

Chinese Football performs at Pearl Street Warehouse, bringing its energetic blend of noisy, melodic 1990s-inspired indie rock to Washington, DC. Founded in Wuhan, China, the band writes about passion, imagination, and defeat through music that balances intricate arrangements with a raw, direct sound. Michael Cera Palin is also on the bill.

Since releasing its self-titled debut in 2015, Chinese Football has become a prominent live act at venues and festivals across China. The band’s two “Game of Life” mini-albums, *Here Comes a New Challenger!* and *Continue?*, led into the 2022 full-length *Win & Lose*, completing its “Game Trilogy.”

After touring Europe in 2023, including an appearance at the math-rock festival ArcTanGent, the band launched its “Scenery” world tour in 2024. That tour included 40 performances in China, dates across Southeast Asia and Taiwan, and the group’s first North American tour, where 10 of 12 shows sold out. Chinese Football also recorded live sessions for Audiotree and KEXP.
