Mireya Ramos
Mireya Ramos brings her distinctive Latin music perspective to Blues Alley in a performance centered on her album *Guerrera*. A Latin Grammy winner and multiple-time Latin Grammy and Grammy nominee, Ramos is a vocalist, musician, composer, producer, arranger, and the founder of Flor de Toloache, described as New York’s first and only all-female mariachi group.
Her sound combines her Latin identity with R&B and soul, drawing on mariachi, cumbia, salsa, and merengue. *Guerrera* presents an intimate account of the grieving process after the end of a relationship, tracing the emotional stages of a woman’s journey. Ramos’s debut album, *Mireya*, featured collaborations with Flor de Toloache, Gaby Moreno, Haydée Milanés, Camilo Lara, Adrián Quesada, Velcro, and Mike Garson. Her recent work has included international performances and an NPR Tiny Desk appearance with Adrián Quesada in the *Boleros Psicodélicos* project. She is also preparing a cumbia-focused production with Diana Burco, Mauricio Mesones, Adriana Lucía, Los Malagueña, and others.
