The Thrills

The Thrills bring an energetic rock-and-roll performance to Hank Dietle’s Tavern, led by singer and guitarist David Kitchen and backed by veteran musicians from the Washington, DC-area scene. The band’s sound is built around seasoned vocals, guitars, slide guitar, bass, drums, and a wealth of regional performance experience.

Lineup: David Kitchen on lead vocals and guitar; Andy Rutherford on guitar, slide guitar, and vocals; Johnny Combs on bass and vocals; and Brian Alpert on drums and vocals.

Performers: David Kitchen is an award-winning DC-area singer-songwriter who has performed with the David Kitchen Band and the Thrillbillys. Andy Rutherford has been active as an in-demand area musician for more than 35 years and has received multiple WAMMIE Awards for his work with the Thrillbillys, Ruthie and the Wranglers, and Little Pink. Johnny Combs has been a fixture of the DC music scene for more than four decades, with credits including Evan Johns and the H-Bombs, Tex Rubinowitz, Pink and Black, and Doc Scantlin and the Imperial Palms Orchestra. Brian Alpert is a veteran of the DC and Charlottesville scenes who has played with Cowboy Jazz, the Assassins, and Doc Scantlin and the Imperial Palms Orchestra, and has toured with guitarist Danny Gatton.
