1921 Biergarten
1921 is a seasonal outdoor biergarten set in the Castle Garden of the Heurich House Museum, open from early March through late November. Guests gather around Oktoberfest-style tables and Adirondack chairs, shaded by trees in warmer weather or warmed by fire pits and heaters as the season cools. The biergarten’s rotating drink list features fresh local craft beer from DC breweries, including Senate Beer—a historic revival brewed in partnership with Right Proper Brewing Company—along with craft cocktails and wine from top regional producers. While enjoying a drink, visitors can explore HOME/BREWED, an exhibit in the carriage house that displays over 1,000 objects from the Heurich brewery. The biergarten directly supports the museum’s Education and Incubator programs.
