In response to federal workforce cuts, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) is offering a series of four free visual arts workshops called Art & Flow, designed to provide a relaxing and healing space for those impacted. Each workshop meets from 10:00am to 12:00pm on a Friday morning and is led by a professional teaching artist. Participants can connect with others and express themselves creatively in a supportive environment. Registration is required despite the free admission.

Location: Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, 545 7th St. SE, Washington DC 20003.

When: The series runs on four dates: April 4, May 2, May 16, and May 30. Each workshop takes place from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

Showtimes: Each workshop is a single two‑hour session on its respective Friday.

Workshop schedule: April 4 – Collage Chaos: Art in Motion, led by surreal collage artist Khadija Jahmila, exploring collaborative art creation with paper collages. May 2 – Pen & Ink Drawing, with teaching artist Blas Goncalves‑Borrega, covering traditional ink drawing techniques. May 16 – Text & Image Collage: create a vision collage using sketches, photos, and magazine images on a cradled wood board. May 30 – Howardena Pindell Dot Art: explore abstract expressionism through dot‑based artwork techniques with artist Khadija Jahmila.
