Death Cafe

Death Cafe is an informal gathering where participants share coffee, tea, and desserts while talking openly about death and dying. The conversation is intended to increase awareness of mortality and encourage people to make the most of their finite lives. Death Cafes take place across the country and are discussion spaces rather than therapeutic or counseling sessions.

When: Sunday, September 20, 2026

Showtimes: 1:00–3:00 PM

Venue: Rhizome DC

Tickets: Free; a small donation toward the space is encouraged.

RSVP: An RSVP is requested. Attendance is limited to 20 people so the discussion can be facilitated effectively and more participants have an opportunity to speak.

Refreshments: Coffee, tea, and desserts will be provided.

Format: Open, informal discussion about death and dying.
