Her sound combines R&B, hip-hop, old-school Detroit house, and musical theater, reflecting her work as a platinum-selling singer-songwriter, musician, Broadway performer, poet, and creator.

Josey first developed her distinctive vocal approach in high school by mimicking instruments such as cello, bass, and flute while watching YouTube videos. She later played Pearl in *The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage!* and built her solo career through the *Illustrations* EP (2020) and *SOUTHERN DELICACY* EP (2023). As a songwriter, she co-wrote two songs on Ari Lennox’s *Age/Sex/Location*, including the platinum-certified “Pressure,” and toured as Lennox’s support act. The tour centers on Josey’s debut full-length album, *Serial Romantic*, released through Def Jam Recordings.
