Puppet Lab

Puppet Lab is a performance-focused puppetry development session at Rhizome DC, designed as a supportive environment for experimentation, mistakes, and theatrical risk-taking. Participants may share works in progress for feedback, facilitate exercises, or work with others to improvise and solve specific scenes or performance challenges.

The lab welcomes puppeteers and puppet-theater enthusiasts at every experience level. Its activities support creative development, puppet-manipulation skills, idea sharing, constructive feedback, and community building. Past sessions have explored shadow puppetry, Laban, suspense, metaphor, music, voice, clowning, character development, props, tabletop puppets, humanettes, and hand puppets.

Showtimes: 10:00 AM–12:00 PM

Schedule: The lab meets on the first Saturday of each month.
