Death Cafe

Sun, Jul 19, 2026at 3:00 PM
6950 Maple Street Northwest, Washington, DC
Free

Death Cafe is a casual gathering where people come together to share refreshments and have open, thoughtful conversations about death and dying. The aim is to increase awareness of mortality in a supportive, non-clinical setting, helping participants reflect on how to make the most of their finite lives. This session at Rhizome DC is facilitated by Margaret Branch and Monica Lynch, and it is explicitly not a therapy or grief support group — just a respectful space to talk freely about whatever is on your mind regarding death.

When: Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Venue: Rhizome DC.

Tickets: Free; a small donation for the space is encouraged.

Lineup: Facilitated by Margaret Branch and Monica Lynch.

Run time: Two hours.

Ages: Not specified; likely all ages welcome, but content is about death and dying.

Note: Coffee, tea, and desserts will be provided. Attendance is limited to 20 people to ensure good conversation flow and speaking opportunities. This is not a therapy, grief support, or counseling session. For questions, contact Margaret Branch at margaret603@gmail.com or Monica Lynch at mlynch19@comcast.net.
