Flowers for the Dead
Flowers for the Dead brings its moody, distortion-heavy indie rock to Songbyrd Music House with support from Color Palette and Hotel Sewing Kit. The Washington, D.C., trio—guitarist and vocalist Jessie Szegö, bassist Naomi Kei, and drummer Ten Bears—combines 1990s-influenced riffs, rumbling grooves, and shifting dynamics that move between soothing restraint and forceful crescendos.
The band’s latest full-length album, *Magnolia*, develops its raw, eclectic sound while exploring self-reflection and resilience. More recent releases, including the *First Place* EP and the singles “Ladybug” and “My Misery Is Mine,” reflect the group’s continuing musical evolution. Flowers for the Dead has also toured with Austin’s Die Spitz and Montreal’s No Joy and is preparing for its first European tour.
