Three Days, Two Late Nights, One Summer Solstice

The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden celebrates the official start of summer with the Smithsonian Solstice Weekend, staying open late until 11 PM on both Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20, 2026. Visitors can explore the museum’s current exhibitions after dark, including Laurie Anderson: Four Talks, Basquiat x Banksy, Mark Bradford: Pickett’s Charge, Barbara Kruger: Belief+Doubt, Big Things for Big Rooms, Adam Pendleton: Love, Queen, and Revolutions: Art from the Hirshhorn Collection, 1860–1960. Guests are invited to step inside Laurie Anderson’s immersive gallery, take in a conversation across time and space between Jean-Michel Basquiat and street artist Banksy, and catch larger-than-life installations in Big Things for Big Rooms. For added late-night perks, the Museum Shop will be open for souvenir shopping and Dolcezza Café will offer drinks for purchase.
