Kaitlyn Tiffany visits Politics and Prose at the Wharf to discuss her new book *The Housewives Underground: The Untold Story of the Women Who Made the JFK Assassination Our Most Enduring Mystery* with Adrienne LaFrance, executive editor of *The Atlantic*. This event is presented in partnership with *The Atlantic*. The book chronicles the previously untold story of Maggie Field, Shirley Martin, and Sylvia Meagher—the women journalists, researchers, and amateur investigators who challenged the Warren Commission’s official account of President Kennedy’s assassination in the late 1960s and 1970s. Tiffany, a staff writer at *The Atlantic* and author of *Everything I Need I Get from You*, will explore how these so-called “housewives” were dismissed by politicians and the press yet played a pivotal role in shaping our enduring obsession with the assassination. After the conversation, attendees can purchase signed copies of the book.
