Horton Technique Masterclass with Kevin Malone is an introductory-to-intermediate dance class exploring the codified modern dance technique developed by American dancer and choreographer Lester Horton in the 1940s. The class emphasizes lyrical and circular movement, opposing stretches, full-body strengthening, dynamic movement quality, alignment, and physical awareness.

Participants will work on basic alignment, flat backs, lateral T positions, primitive squats, deep lunges, and coccyx balances. The session also introduces Horton terminology and a basic traveling movement phrase, offering a joyful entry point into the Horton warm-up and combination. Horton Technique draws on elements of Native American and Afro-Caribbean dance and is designed to improve conditioning, flexibility, strength, and physical resilience for unrestricted dramatic movement.
