Miss Kitty: Life's Other Plans is an intimate, hour-long cabaret of story and song, presented by Helen Hayes nominee and queer artiste Miss Kitty in her powerful one-woman show debut. Blending live music and storytelling, the production shares Miss Kitty’s journey as a Black trans woman and actress in the DMV area, highlighting both the beauty and challenges of navigating the performing arts. The piece explores how people deal with unexpected turns—from love to loss, self-reflection to acceptance, defeat to triumph—using wit, wisdom, and the music of yesterday. Presented by La Pluma Theatre during Pride Month, the show offers a meaningful space to uplift trans voices, foster allyship, and create connection within the community.

Performer: Miss Kitty [she/her/hers] is an amab/non-binary/genderqueer/transfemme Helen Hayes Awards nominated stage and film actress, chanteuse, dancer, and drag artiste. Her credits include productions at Folger Theatre, Spooky Action Theater, Creative Cauldron, Avant Bard Theatre, Prince George’s Shakespeare in the Parks, Capital Fringe, and film appearances. She is also the creator of LeLynxLookx apparel.
