¡Latin Night with Tumbao!
¡Latin Night with Tumbao! is a weekly Saturday celebration of Latin music held downstairs at Bossa Bistro & Lounge. The evening features the band Tumbao, a pan-American ensemble led by keyboardist Jorge Martinez from Cuba, with vocalist Verny Varela, Salvadoran bassist Manuel Hernandez, Ecuadorian conguero Gustavo Estrella, and American timbalero Ralph Esquenazy. Together they deliver a fiery mix of rhythms from Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia, and occasionally Brazilian tunes as a nod to the house. The music fills the downstairs lounge space, creating a vibrant atmosphere that organizers consider the best Latin night in Washington, DC.
