Brenda Portman celebrity recital

Brenda Portman, an award-winning organist and composer, presents a special recital at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. The program celebrates the completion of the church’s Lively-Fulcher organ and the 100th anniversary of St. Mary’s Church, featuring music by Anna Amalia of Prussia, Rachel Laurin, Jennifer Higdon, and Portman herself.

Portman has received numerous organ and composition prizes in the United States and Europe. She also holds the S. Lewis Elmer Award for earning the highest combined score on the AAGO and FAGO diploma examinations.

Parking: The church parking lot is across N. Glebe Road. Some ADA/handicap parking is available on the street, along with additional nearby street parking; visitors should observe posted signs.

Public transportation: The closest Metrorail station is Ballston. From there, the church is approximately two miles by car or can be reached via the ART 72 bus.
