Korea Week 2026: In Partnership with the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor District Library

Korea Week 2026 is a weeklong cultural festival presented by the Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. in partnership with the Nam Center for Korean Studies at the University of Michigan and the Ann Arbor District Library. The festival invites the University of Michigan community and Ann Arbor residents to experience Korean culture through programs for both children and adults, including hands-on activities, performances, educational talks, and storytime.

Programs include hanbok workshops, traditional Korean games and crafts, Korean ink wash painting, a lecture on Korean food and culture, Hangul activities, traditional Korean percussion, and Korean storytime. A featured September 28 program, “The Beauty of Hanbok: Discovering Korean Culture Through Traditional and Modern Hanbok,” will be led by professional hanbok designer Laura Park. Participants will explore the history and cultural significance of hanbok and learn about both traditional and contemporary styles. The festival also seeks to broaden access to Korean cultural experiences outside the Washington, D.C., area while building lasting partnerships with educational and cultural institutions.
