Nanny Assis Performs "Afro-Jobim" - Brazilian Jazz Series

Nanny Assis, a celebrated Brazilian musician born in Salvador in 1969, brings his Afro-Jobim project to Blues Alley as part of the Brazilian Jazz Series. A drummer, percussionist, guitarist, singer-songwriter, and teacher, Assis blends Brazilian jazz, Bossa Nova, Forró, and Afro-Brazilian sounds into a vibrant performance. With over 30 years of career, he has performed at prestigious venues worldwide including Blue Note NYC, Carnegie Hall, and the Newport Jazz Festival, and has received awards such as the Brazilian International Press Award for Best Singer of the Year (2011) and an ambassadorship of Brazilian music to Japan (2017). His albums include "Rovanio (The Music of Nanny Assis)" (2023), "Honey & Air" (2017), "Brazilian Vibes" (2010), and "Double Rainbow" (2006). This event is co-presented with the Embassy of Brazil.

Tickets: $30 plus $7 in fees. Final sale — no refunds and not transferable. A $15 food and beverage minimum per person is not included in the ticket price.
