Summer Dance Classes

This one-night-only event at Signature Theatre offers two separate dance classes for different skill levels, each themed around a popular musical. Both classes are taught by choreographer and dancer Nikki Mirza, who brings an energetic and inclusive approach to movement. Participants can choose between a beginner/all-levels class set to songs from *Mamma Mia!* and an intermediate/advanced class inspired by *Footloose*, each lasting one hour.

Instructor: Nikki Mirza is a multi-disciplinary theatre artist with experience as a director, choreographer, and performer. She has worked with Signature Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, Round House Theatre, and other regional companies. She currently serves as Adjunct Dance Faculty at The Catholic University of America and American University, and she believes everyone is a dancer, encouraging participants to discover their own physical storytelling vocabulary.

When: Monday, July 27, 2026. Beginner/All Levels Class runs from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Intermediate/Advanced Class runs from 7:45 PM to 8:45 PM.

Showtimes: Two class sessions: 6:30 PM and 7:45 PM.

Tickets: Tuition is $25 per class.

Lineup: Each class centers on choreography from a single musical: the beginner class uses *Mamma Mia!* and the intermediate/advanced class uses *Footloose*.

Run time: Each class is one hour long.

Ages: Not specified, but classes are described as for all levels; no experience required for the beginner class, while some prior dance experience is recommended for the intermediate/advanced class.
