Everything Else Is Noise (Lo Demás Es Ruido)

Nicolás Pereda’s playful chamber comedy centers on Tere, an accomplished musician and composer who has never received the recognition she merits and has long been overshadowed by male colleagues. She agrees to host fellow composer Rosa, who is preparing for her first television interview and needs a suitable setting. The shoot quickly unravels as the crew contends with a barking dog, a power outage, and Tere’s musician daughter repeatedly interrupting the proceedings.

As the chaotic afternoon progresses, Tere, Rosa, and Tere’s daughter form an unexpected alliance. Their shared perspective exposes the self-important behavior of the interviewers and the broader art world, while the film takes aim at avant-garde artistic circles and entrenched male ego. The film was selected for the 2026 Berlin, Toronto, and New York film festivals.
