October 2026 in the Galleries with Lori Rounds and Open Studios
Artists & Makers Studios’ October 2026 gallery program presents Lori Niland Rounds’ exhibition “Reimagined,” alongside a mini-solo by Richard Svec, new work by the resident artists, and an open-studio-style presentation by the 19 Gallery 209 member artists. The program explores artistic adaptation, experimentation, and changing creative methods, while featuring work across painting, printmaking, photography, encaustic, fiber, sculpture, and other media.
“Reimagined” reflects Rounds’ response to circumstances that made her familiar ways of working more difficult. Through layered and abstract compositions, altered processes, and intuitive engagement with materials, she revisits longstanding interests in the textures, colors, rhythms, and patterns of the natural world. The exhibition emphasizes transformation rather than abandoning the past, considering what can be preserved, released, or newly discovered through change. Francis Maduka Uduh’s sculptural work will also be on view in Studio 11, and light refreshments will be provided with support from The Chesapeake Framing Company.
