DES DEMONAS

A concert at Black Cat features Washington, D.C.’s DES DEMONAS, a band hailed by Neko Case, Henry Rollins, Marc Riley, and Iggy Pop. Their debut LP was released on In The Red Records, and their much-anticipated follow‑up *APOCALYPTIC BOOM! BOOM!* has just come out on the same label. The group blends punk, garage, and indie influences, with a driving pulse and fiery intent. The lineup includes vocalist/percussionist Jacky “Cougar” Abok (Sex Faces, Foul Swoops, Thee Lolitas), guitarist Mark Cisneros (Hammered Hulls, Kid Congo and the Pink Monkey Birds, The Make‑Up), Farfisa organist/bass machine operator Paul Vivari (Benjy Ferree, DJ Soul Call Paul), and drummer Matt Gatwood (Ducts, Halpine, Two Inch Astronaut). Also performing are support acts SOROCHE and THAT THIS.
