Charlene Kaye: Diversity Shredder

Charlene Kaye brings Diversity Shredder, a wild musical-comedy performance about navigating the world as an Asian woman who shreds on guitar. The show moves through Kaye’s musical history, from her early folk singer-songwriter work to wizard rock with Team StarKid and her series of gender-flipped cover bands, including Guns N’ Hoses and Labiahead. The performance combines comedy, guitar playing, musical education, and an unpredictable exploration of Kaye’s creative universe.

Kaye is known for viral music videos, including “Every Taylor Swift Song,” which has surpassed 100 million views, and has been described by Rolling Stone as a breakout comedy star. She previously toured *Tiger Daughter: Or, How I Brought My Immigrant Mother Ultimate Shame*, a critically acclaimed show presented by Margaret Cho that sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024 and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2025. That show is slated to become Kaye’s first comedy special.
