Charlene Kaye: Diversity Shredder
Charlene Kaye brings her new show, *Diversity Shredder*, to Union Stage on October 29, 2026. Described as a "madcap musical" about being a menace to society as an Asian woman guitar shredder, the show takes audiences through Kaye's musical universe: from her origins as a folk singer-songwriter, to shredding in the wizard rock band Team StarKid, to fronting gender-flipped cover bands like Guns N’ Hoses and Labiahead. Rolling Stone has called Kaye a "breakout comedy star," and she is known for viral videos including "Every Taylor Swift Song," which has surpassed 100 million views. This new show follows her critically acclaimed debut solo show, *Tiger Daughter: Or, How I Brought My Immigrant Mother Ultimate Shame*, presented by Margaret Cho, which sold out at Edinburgh Fringe 2024 and Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2025 and is set to be filmed as her first comedy special.
The evening promises a razor-sharp, unhinged blend of comedy and music, with Kaye joking that audiences may even confuse her for Bobby Lee. The performance is free to attend.
